The expansive, well-established community of Wayne Township is nestled in the heart of Passaic County.  Approximately half of the residents are commuters, while the remainder are employed locally.  Serving as a corporate center in its own right, Wayne offers the excitement of a business hub without the congestion of an urban environment.  Known for some of the finest shopping centers in the state, Wayne creates a county-like atmosphere in the midst of a sprawling, suburban town.  Transportation efficiencies are provided by Route 23, but this area also enjoys easy access to Interstate 80.  Bus and train service are available to New York City for commuting convenience.  More than 2,500 acres of lush parks are available for passive and active recreation.  Other facilities include a recreation center, supervised programs, sports fields, league play for all ages, and tennis courts.
